Upcoming Family & Kid Friendly Holiday Events in Palm Beach County
Whether you live here in South Florida or you are visiting in December, there are tons of festive holiday events for families to enjoy. This year, several popular annual events are returning bigger and better than previous years. There are also a few first time events scheduled this December.
Here is our master guide to the some of the holiday festivals, snow events, light displays and seasonal parades taking place in Palm Beach County in 2018.
Schedule of Family-Friendly Holiday Events
12th Annual Vanilla Ice Block Party & Winter Fest
Date of Event: Friday, December 7, 2018 – 6 PM to 10 PM
Join Vanilla Ice and the 2018 Master of Ceremonies, Wes Kain, for the annual Ice Block Party & Winter Fest at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, FL. Bring the kids and family to this popular South Florida annual winter event to help support the Little Smiles Toy Drive by bringing an unwrapped toy.
There will be a Blizzard Beach Kids Winter Wonderland area along with food vendors, exhibitors and local merchants selling wares. You’ll also enjoy performances by local singers, dancers and musical groups along with an appearance by Santa Clause.

Winterfest Lantana – Town of Lantana, FL
Date of Event: Friday, December 7, 2018 – 6:30 PM to 9 PM
The Winterfest, hosted by the Town of Lantana, will offer fun activities for kids and adults which include photos with Santa, a holiday hayride, elves’ corner and a DJ dance party at the Lantana Recreation Center. There will also be vendors selling fares and a bike give-away.

Christkindlmarkt – The American-German Club
Date of Event: Saturday & Sunday, December 8-9, 2018
The American-German Club on Lantana Road in Lake Worth is hosting their annual German outdoor Christmas market. This family friendly event will offer children workshops for making Christmas ornaments, stations for coloring holiday themed pages and decorating miniature gingerbread houses. Santa Clause will also be available to take photos with kids.
Sit down under the pavilion to enjoy authentic German food and drinks while enjoying live entertainment from bands, musical groups and carolers. Walk around the Christkindlmarkt to check out the vendors offering Christmas ornaments and other holiday related items.
When evening arrives, that’s when the real Christmas magic begins. Around 5:30, kids can take part in a festive lantern parade while singing classic German and American Christmas songs. At 6:30, Santa will light the tree which is the highlight of the holiday event.

Holiday Village Spectacular – 97.9 WRMF Event
Date of Event: Saturday, December 8, 2018 – 11 AM to 2 PM
Join Virginia from the KVJ Show for the annual WRMF 97.9 Holiday Village Spectacular event at Legacy Place Shops in Palm Beach Gardens.
This free event features a giant slide, fun activities and face painting for kids of all ages. Shop for holiday crafts and delicious treats like hot cocoa and gingerbread cookies. You can also take a picture with Santa.

Lake Worth Nutcracker Holiday Fest
Date of Event: Saturday, December 15, 2018 – 12 AM to 5 PM
The Lake Worth Kiwanis is hosting this all ages holiday event downtown at the Cultural Center along with their annual bike give-a-way which consists of over 100 bicycles this year.
Kids will love the Home Depot Santa’s Workshop and can take pictures with Santa and Ms Claus. There will be plenty of local vendors offering food, goodies, crafts and trinkets.

Play In Snow Events
Nightly Snowfalls at Cityplace
November 10 to December 31 at 6 PM
See it snow in South Florida! Every evening at Cityplace in Downtown West Palm Beach you can experience the Snowfall on the Square.
There are nightly snow falls which can be seen Monday through Wednesday at 6pm and 7pm or Thursday through Sunday at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm. Take a spot near the lighted holiday tree by the fountain to see snowflakes shower down over the crowd.

Sugar Sands Park’s 7th Annual Snow Day – Piles of Smiles
Saturday, December 15, 2018 – 10AM to 4PM
This special holiday event is for all ages however the snow play area is for kids ages 5 to 10 only, adults are only allowed to supervise their children.
The Sugar Sands Park’s Snow Day wristband, available for purchase, includes event admission and access to all attractions. You’ll see TONS of snow along with your favorite winter characters walking around for photo opportunities. There will be a sock skating rink, so make sure to bring a clean dry pair with you. You’ll also find a huge fair slide, bounce houses, obstacle course and even a separate toddler snow area for the little ones.

Christmas Light Displays
Lights 4 Hope Drive-Thru Holiday Light Show – Okeeheelee Park
November 16 thru January 6 – Friday, Saturday & Sunday – 6 PM to 10 PM
Lights 4 Hope, Inc., is hosting their 1st annual holiday lights show at Okeeheelee Park on Forest Hill Boulevard. Proceeds from the event will be go to Palm Beach Children’s Hospital.

Hoffman’s Chocolates 28th Annual Winter Wonderland
November 17 thru December 30 – Friday, Saturday & Sunday – 6 PM to 10 PM
Come see over 75000 colorful lights and lots of holiday decorations and lighted displays at Hoffman’s Chocolates 28th Annual Winter Wonderland in Greenacres on Lake Worth Road. This free family-friendly holiday event will feature Santa and Mrs. Claus in the garden. Please check for times and days of appearances as they vary through the month of December.
Check out the Arctic zone with lighted polar bears and penguins, a Nativity scene, Christmas trees and a beautifully-decorated Hanukkah display.
You can also skate on real ice inside the Florida Panthers Holiday Ice Skating Rink which is set-up in front of the chocolate factory and store. Rink hours for weekdays are 3 to 10 PM and on Weekends, Noon to 10 PM. Cost to ice skate is $15 per person of which $1 will go to the Florida Panthers Foundation which benefits the South Florida community.

The one thing about living in a coastal area are all of the awesome boat parades throughout the county. Some of the more popular boat parade holiday events in South Florida take place in Palm Beach, Jupiter, Lake Osborne (Lake Worth), Boca Raton and Delray Beach.
